A Quiet Week in Trading Activity
This week, the trading atmosphere wasn’t too exciting. Sometimes, markets can be like that, and traders often find value in quiet periods. For those who are following a momentum strategy like the one outlined in Andreas Clenow’s book, “Stocks On The Move,” no new trades were made this week. Our strategy, which focuses on ranking stocks by their annualized adjusted slope, keeps us disciplined—buying only top-ranked stocks and selling those that fall out of favor.
Buys and Sells
In our current portfolio, we neither added new stocks nor sold any existing ones. With the S&P 500 hovering above its 200-day moving average for 249 days, our strategy permits new purchases, but no opportunities met our criteria this week. Our holdings remain steady, with significant reserves in cash, suggesting vigilance and waiting for the right market conditions.
Summary and Thoughts
The portfolio is mostly allocated towards cash, indicating a cautious approach in anticipation of future opportunities. Some top holdings include CORT and TPL, with cash leading the way. Over the past seven trading days, CRS was our top performer, gaining 4.88%, while TBBK underperformed, losing 13.77%. This week underscores the importance of maintaining a diversified and well-thought-out strategy.
While this was indeed a quiet week, such periods offer opportunities for reflection and ensuring our strategy aligns with market conditions. We’d love to hear your thoughts or questions about this week’s trading activity in the comments below. Stay informed, stay engaged, and happy trading!
