This Week’s Trading Activity: A Balanced Approach

This week, the S&P 500 continues its steady ascent, remaining above its 200-day moving average for 292 days. This positive regime allows us to execute our momentum-based trading strategy, as detailed in Andreas Clenow’s ‘Stocks On The Move’. This methodology focuses on the adjusted slope to rank stocks, making it a methodical approach to identify prospects.

Buys/Sells Activity

In recent transactions, we have welcomed some new additions to our portfolio. We’ve purchased BILL Holdings, a company specializing in cloud-based software for automating finance operations. Chart Industries (GTLS), known for its engineering and manufacturing of cryogenic products, also joined. Lastly, we included Paymentus Holdings (PAY), a company revolutionizing the billing and payments industry, into our mix. On the other hand, IES Holdings (IESC) exited our portfolio due to strategy guidelines.

Significant attention continues on the Industrials sector, where many of our top holdings reside. AXON Enterprise, a leader in public safety technology, and PAY, with its innovative payment systems, are notable performers. Our rebalancing focused on augmenting positions in AXON, while trimming down in others like APO and CORT.

Summary

This week, GTLS emerges as a top performer with a gain, whereas BILL experienced a slight setback. Our portfolio remains diversified, with a strong presence in the Industrials sector, reflecting confidence in its growth potential. While keeping strategic cash reserves, we remain poised for opportunities, ensuring flexibility for potential market shifts.

As we conclude this week, the portfolio reflects a disciplined approach in line with our systematic trading strategy. We strive to maintain a balanced mix of holdings and are excited about the prospects in 2025. Please, feel free to share your insights or questions in the comments below—we’d love to hear from you!
