Investing Update: Navigating the Market with a Steady Hand

This week, markets continue to show resilience with the S&P 500 trading above its 200-day moving average for 35 days. This positions us favorably for market engagement, and with our cash allocation at just 2.1%, we’re almost fully invested, reflecting confidence in our strategy. Our portfolio operates under the momentum-based ranking strategy as elaborated by Andreas Clenow in ‘Stocks On The Move’, ensuring we stay responsive to market movements.

In terms of portfolio adjustments, we sold holdings in CME and CNP. These sales align with our strategy’s criteria, such as stocks dropping out of the top 10% momentum ranking or falling below their 100-day moving average. We added to our existing position in EHC to capitalize on its strong ranking within our momentum framework. Meanwhile, our position in PLTR was trimmed as part of a rebalancing effort.

Focusing on sectors, Healthcare leads our performance charts. Typically, this sector acts as a defensive, stable element in portfolios, often providing steady growth. Our top holdings remain EHC, NEU, and MNST. This week, AGX emerged as the best performer, showing an impressive increase of +8.42%. On the flip side, PLMR experienced a slight dip, marking it as the week’s worst performer with a decline of -0.91%.

Reflecting on recent performance, the Trade Tuesday Momentum Portfolio was unchanged in June, compared to the S&P 500’s gain of 5%. Year-to-date, we’re up 8.2%, while the S&P 500 has seen a 5.5% increase. We remain committed to our strategy, eagerly anticipating what the second half of the year will hold.

We’re excited to hear what you have to say. Feel free to share your thoughts and insights in the comments.
