Trade Tuesday

The Trade Tuesday portfolio gained 2% in February and has now approximately the same YTD performance as the S&P 500.

For the second time in 2022, the S&P 500 traded below the 200 day moving average on a Trade Tuesday. Hence no new purchases were allowed in this week.

January was a weak month for the Trade Tuesday Momentum Portfolio as it was down 10%, worse than the S&P 500. Today the S&P 500 is back above the 200 day moving average, so new buys are again allowed per the strategy.

Whew! 2022 is anything but boring so far and the Trade Tuesday Momentum Portfolio has had a rough start into the year. Since the S&P 500 is trading below its 200 day moving average, there were no new buys allowed in this week. Many of my stocks are even trading below their 100 day moving average and had to be sold.

Happy New Year! It’s time to look back on the past year and 2021 went quite well! The Trade Tuesday Momentum Portfolio was up 35% for the year, topping the S&P 500 by about 10%.

Today I refreshed the Momentum Ranking for the last time in 2021, yay! Next week, we’ll take a look at the performance of 2021, but so far it looks better than 2020.
