1 trade came out of this week’s run — no buys and 1 sell.
For anyone tracking the numbers directly, week 44’s ranking is here.

This week the market tone remained somewhat steady, with the S&P 500 trading above its 200-day moving average for 142 days. We’re maintaining a small cash share of 0.9%, suggesting that we’re fully invested in line with our momentum investing strategy. Using the Stocks on the Move ranking system as detailed by Andreas Clenow, we focus on top-ranked stocks by analyzing their adjusted annualized slope. This helps us engage in weekly momentum trades that align with our strategy.
In our current portfolio, we executed a few adjustments. We sold BAX because it fell below the top 20% of our rankings, staying true to our rules-based approach even amid notable macro events like FOMC press conferences and upcoming elections. We added to our existing positions in ANF, a fashion retailer, MPC, an energy company, and VEEV, which offers cloud-based software solutions. Meanwhile, we trimmed our position in PBF, another player in the energy sector.
Healthcare is still the leading sector in our portfolio, highlighting its typical stability in many investment strategies. Companies like VEEV and HALO continue to be strong contributors. Our top holdings include HALO, PK, and AVTR, showing a diversified approach. This week’s star performers included QLYS, up by 24.4%, and CRL, which gained 19.0%. In contrast, PBF slipped by 4.7%, while MPC and ELF experienced smaller declines. The portfolio outperformed, finishing the week +5.8 percentage points ahead of SPY, which climbed just 1.3%.
Our model currently favors a group of robust contenders that are not yet in the portfolio: MRNA, P, VEEV, MPC, and ANF. We’d love to hear your thoughts on the portfolio’s performance in the comments below.
